Between 7:01am on 25th May 2016 and 6:53am on 26th May 2016, I attempted (and beat) the world record for the number of countries visited in a single 24 hour period using only scheduled transport.

I started in Perl, Germany, and travelled through Luxembourg, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and finished in Austria.
